Without our team of over 1000 volunteers Dove House Hospice could not provide such vital care to the local community.

Volunteers give their time across the whole hospice and they add so much to the services we deliver and are a vital part of our team. Volunteers make our care extra special, our shops warm and welcoming, our events run smoothly and keep our gardens beautiful, to name just a few things! We simply would not be here without them.

If you're interested, but not sure about becoming a volunteer, you can complete our 'Register your interest in volunteering' form below and a member from our People & Development team will be in touch about different volunteering options and how it can be a fit for you.

Volunteers at Dove House

Here is why some of our volunteers decided to join us and what they do to support the hospcie

Frances

Knowing I am making a difference every time I step foot in the hospice is by far the best part of volunteering for me. Everyone is super friendly and we have so many laughs. They really make you feel like you are part of the team and that my time is valued.

James

Retail Volunteer
I really value my role as a volunteer and the part I play to ensure we open and serve the local people in my community and in turn support the hospice. I am valued and I know that my help makes a difference.

Michael

Retail Volunteer
Since I have been volunteering for Dove House I have noticed that my mental health has improved massively. Volunteering can be what you want it to be. You can come in, help and go home or you can build on areas you want to learn or gain skills in. For me it has given me valuable skills that I am forever trying to repay. Dove House has turned my life around!

Pam

Volunteer
Having had cancer myself it really does give you a different outlook on life and I am proud to volunteer at Dove House. It is only a little bit of time but it works around my work/life schedule and if everyone did the same it would make one big difference.

Pat

Volunteer of the Year 2019
I give my time and commitment to Dove House but I feel I get so much more out of volunteering than I give. It is hugely rewarding. I think Dove House is a fantastic place to volunteer and I would encourage everybody to give it a go.
