Celebrate and remember the lives of your loved one this Christmas

We'd like to thank everyone for their support for the Light Up a Life appeal, although we had to make the ceremony virtual and livestream it we are glad we were still able to help everyone celebrate and remember our loved ones this Christmas.

2020 has been a year where many people have not been able to celebrate their loved one’s life in the way they had hoped and has meant we hadn't been able to gather together to share stories and memories. Light up a Life is a unique opportunity to remember those who have died and celebrate their life at Christmas time.

On Saturday 12th December we had our online Light up a Life ceremony which was livestreamed and posted on the Dove House Hospice Facebook and Youtube channels and your loved ones were remembered as part of this special event. To watch the ceremony you can watch it on our YouTube channel here:

When you remembered your loved one you should've received a Ceremony Pack which will contained an Order of Service and Book of Lights which would've include your loved one’s name, a personalised wooden star Christmas tree decoration and a candle to light at home. (Due to huge delays over the Christmas period these may have been late for the ceremony, we apologise for any inconvenience this caused.)

You can visit the Christmas trees in the hospice's Memory Garden and hang a decoration, whether it be the blank star decorationwith a persoanlised message or another, you can see the trees in the garden until the 5th January.

If you are watching the ceremony back on our YouTube channel and would still like to follow along then please find the Order of Service for Light up a Life here:
