Remember a loved one

Many people choose to hold special events to remember their loved one and celebrate their life.

Memory Events

We have two special Remembrance events every year - Summer Memories on 25th June and Light up a life in December (date TBC). More details can be found here. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us for further help, ideas and advice about arranging your own event.

Memory Tree

Nestled amongst the flowers and shrubs in the quiet tranquillity of the hospice gardens is a tree like no other. Our Memory Tree will offer a unique and meaningful way for people to remember a loved one whilst helping raise funds for the hospice. This unique sculpture is adorned with 500 autumnal coloured leaves, 5 elegant silver doves and 10 foundation stones creating a stunning piece of art. Each element can be engraved with the name of a loved one as a lasting tribute to their memory.

The Memory Tree is displayed upon an external wall within our new Memory Garden, a secluded space where families can take time to remember their loved ones. The garden has its own entrance, independent of the hospice enabling families to visit as and when they wish. Gates to the garden will be open from 9am to 9pm seven days a week. The garden was created for the whole community, therefore time can be spent within its peaceful surroundings even if there has not been a previous connection to the hospice. All are welcome to remember their loved ones here.

Engravings

Capture your most treasured memories within the heart of our tree and help the hospice grow in your loved ones name.

Leaves, doves and foundation stones can be engraved for a donation to the hospice. Once your display time has come to an end you can either extend the time on the tree with a further donation or we will send you the leaf in a special keepsake box. Thanks to the generous support of local businesses we were able to cover the cost of the sculpture. This means that 100% of all the money donated for an engraving will be spent directly on caring for our patients and their families.

Place an engraving order

To order a leaf, please contact the fundraising team on 01482 785743 or email [fundraising@dovehouse.org.uk](mailto:fundraising@dovehouse.org.uk). We will write to you to confirm your order and will contact you as soon as your leaf, dove or foundation stone has been engraved.

Tributes

A tribute is free to set up, there are no targets imposed and it can last however long you wish. Family and friends can make a donation towards the work of the hospice in tribute of your loved one and a running total can be given at any stage. You can set up your own online tribute page by clicking here or we can keep a track of donations for you here at the hospice.

How your tribute fund can grow

You, your family and friends may choose to donate on special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries or Christmas. You may wish to boost the fund by taking part in one of our appeals, a sponsored event or by setting up a monthly direct debit. There are many ways to get a tribute fund up and running and we can help you every step of the way.

How will your tribute help Dove House?

We offer specialist care and support to people whose illness can no longer be cured. Every pound donated in your loved one’s memory will help us to continue caring for our patients and their families. Your fund will have a direct and positive effect on the lives of people in your local area.
