Thank you

Alongside celebrating 60 years of business in 2023, Lazenby Group have taken on a series of fundraising activities through their Charity of the Year partnership with Dove House Hospice. Motivated by personal connections to the hospice, alongside a desire to make a special difference to their community, staff have helped to raise invaluable funds in a variety of ways.

Further to raising funds at their site, including as part of their 60th celebrations, staff have been keen to challenge themselves on behalf of the patients and those closest to them. Eight members of the Lazenby team bravely signed up for the hospice’s annual ‘Get Caked’ challenge, taking on 5 miles of muddy fun at Sledmere House, including climbing over logs, crawling through muddy trenches, jumping through tyres and taking on the Sledmere Slide! Following this, staff then took on the Hull 10k, with sponsorship and contributions from both challenges helping to raise an amazing £2,592.

In addition to this fundraising, Lazenby Group are also utilising their expertise to develop and gift a contactless donation station to be used at the hospice to help capture invaluable donations to help fund every area of specialist care provide by Dove House.

Reflecting on the partnership, Jethro Shearring, Senior Fundraiser at Dove House said:
“We are incredibly grateful to all at Lazenby Group for so thoughtfully selecting the hospice as their official Charity of the Year. I know from speaking with the team that they have personally experienced the care that the hospice provides, which helped to motivate their decision to kindly support Dove House. The staff have been amazing in everything they have done, tackling each challenge with great enthusiasm, and helping to make such a special difference as a result.”

Lucy Peck, Accounts Assistant at Lazenby Group added:

“We chose Dove House to be our chosen charity of the year, as they are a local charity who provide excellent care for people in the local community. It’s also a charity that is close to the hearts of several employees here at the Lazenby Group. We have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves getting stuck in the fundraising events, not only have these been an excellent way to fundraise for a fabulous charity, they’ve also been a fantastic way to promote team building in the company.”
