Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Hull Civic Society, a new film charting how Hull has changed from the 1960s to present day is now available with proceeds being raised in support of Dove House Hospice.
Launched by Hull Civic Society, it has been compiled by keen amateur filmmaker, Ian Wolstencroft. Mixing his own footage with archive film, Hull Through The Decades celebrates the uniqueness of Hull and its heritage in film and pictures.
Featuring many aspects of Hull's rich history and sporting achievements, the film is almost two hours long and available online for you to download and share on your various devices. Highlights include:
- Hull to Hornsea & Withernsea Railway - both closed on 19th October 1964
- Hull's Trolley buses - withdrawn 31st October 1964
- Fishing industry
- Hull City, Hull FC and Hull KR
- Old bus station
