Study Day - Advance Care Planning (including the ReSPECT document)

Dying is inevitable for all of us, so why is it so difficult to talk about? How can we provide person centred end of life care, without understanding what people may want or do not want to happen?Advance Care Planning (ACP) allows people an opportunity to record their wishes, beliefs and preferences about their future care. This study day will explore how we can identify what is important to both ourselves, patients and those important to them. An overview of ACP, including the ReSPECT document, and its importance from both the patient and professional perspective will be provided. The communication skills required will be discussed, enabling you to feel more confident when having these important conversations, particularly with people living with dementia.
