Hornsea Day Care

Our new Day Care service supports patients who have been diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses, and their families in Hornsea and the surrounding area and is provide in partnership with Humber NHS Foundation Trust and Hornsea Cottage Hospital League of Friends.

Dove House Hospice in your local community

Dove House Hospice has launched a brand new day care service in Hornsea Cottage Hospital. Thanks to the support of the League of Friends and Humber NHS Foundation Trust, patients with life limiting illnesses will now be able to access free care every Tuesday as the hospice aims to make itself more accessible for patients in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The free Day Care will offer the expertise and knowledge that we as a hospice are known for to the people in Hornsea and the surrounding areas. Our Palliative Day Care service will provide support from nursing staff for people who are living with life limiting illnesses and need on-going support, advice and information.

Our nursing staff offer on-going support, advice and information

Although the main hospice facility is in Hull, a team of nurses, care assistants, physiotherapists and complimentary therapists will travel to Hornsea each week to offer patients care closer to home. Patients will be able to take part in social activities, attend clinics and be cared for in a safe and relaxing environment complete with a garden area for the summer months. Carers can feel safe in the knowledge that their loved ones are being cared for by professionals and take a short break from the routines of care during these important sessions.

It is easy to refer to the hospice, simply call 01482 785700
