Occupation Therapy at Dove House Hospice enables people to live as well as they can, doing the things that matter most to them.

Like all care at the hospice Occupational Therapy has a holistic approach that is person-centred and tailored around the individual’s goals and quality of life.

The Occupational Therapy team support with:
  • Advice and Education - supporting patients and their families through their journey.
  • Aids and Adaptations - suggesting equipment and changes to promote independence and comfort.
  • Discharge Planning -  Assessing home environments for equipment needs.
  • Emotion Needs - helping patients to live with their diagnosis and the impact it can have on daily living.
  • Meaningful Activities - enabling patients to participate in things that matter the most.
  • Symptom Management - offering techniques and strategies for coping with, and reducing the impact of, symptoms on dailing living.
  • Wellbeing Groups - referring to appropriate outpatient groups to support living well.
