Gift Aiding your donations means we are able to claim an additional 25% of their sale value from HMRC at no extra cost to you, so if you donate a jumper and we sell it for £5 we can claim an extra £1.25!

In order for us to ensure that we claim the correct amount of Gift Aid it would help us if you could let us know if you are no longer eligible for Gift Aid or if you no longer agree to the terms of the Agency Agreement we have in place for Gift Aid.

What is MyCard Gift Aid?

MyCard Gift Aid is a scheme where we can claim Gift Aid on the proceeds of the sale of any good you have donated to our shops. For example, if you have donated a jumper to us and we have sold it for £5, we can claim 25% extra at no extra cost to you which means the hospice receives £6.25 in total.

What do I need to do if I still qualify for Gift Aid?

You don't have to do anything! If we've got your details right then we already have everything we need to claim Gift Aid on your donations. But please do tell us if anything changes in the future.

Why do you need to know if I can no longer Gift Aid?

We must only claim Gift Aid for donations where the supporter is eligible. HMRC can also request you pay back any Gift Aid that has been claimed which you have not paid enough tax to cover.

Why have I received an email/letter from you?

We want to check that we've got your details correct and that we can still claim Gift Aid. Even if you have asked us not to contact you, we still have to communicate like this to ensure we are following HMRC's guidance and that we are not claiming Gift Aid we shouldn't be.
