We continue to monitor the developments in regard to the Coronavirus outbreak and want to assure you that protecting the vulnerable people we care for is paramount for us.
Update Tuesday 7th April 2020
We are pleased to be working with City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP), who provide NHS health and care services during the Coronavirus crisis.
CHCP are now renting our empty Needler Unit and it is now fully kitted out and staffed, ready to help as the region prepares for the full impact of the outbreak. The unit is self-contained with its own entrance, separate from the main hospice site. It will be staffed by CHCP’s nurses and allied health professionals.
Our Chief Executive, Dr Anna Wolkowski, said, “We are pleased to be working with CHCP in order to do all we can to support the whole local healthcare environment at this time. We very much feel that we have a part to play in order to help our local community through this crisis.
“I want to assure everyone that the Needler unit is entirely separate to the main hospice activities and we are not sharing staff or other resources. Stringent measures and precautions are in place to ensure that the hospice’s Inpatient unit remains a safe environment for patients and staff.”
Update Tuesday 31st March 2020
Due to the development of the Coronavirus outbreak we can no longer allow unannounced visitors into the hospice. All patient visits must be directly agreed with our nursing team in advance and restrictions will apply. If you have any questions regarding a loved one being cared for by the hospice please call: 01482 784343
