We welcome all sorts of visitors to the hospice every day, whether you are visiting a loved one who is being cared for on the Inpatient Unit, dropping in a donation or having a meeting with one of our team you can be sure to be greeted with a smile.

You will find Dove House just off of Chamberlain Road, Hull, HU8 8DH and we are accessed via Pavilion Close. When you arrive on site you will find ample parking (there is more parking if you turn left as you drive through the entrance and continue through the gates), parking is free of charge. If you are visiting a patient there is reserved parking in front of the hospice building by Dulcie's Cafe.

Head to the main Reception and our friendly Reception team will help you from there.

Visiting a Patient

We know that sometimes visitors are apprehensive when they come to see a loved one in our care. Here are some useful bits of information before you visit. When you arrive in the Inpatient Unit we encourage you to look at the Visitor Information Board for more details.

Visiting Times

Our current visiting times are 9am to 7pm. However, these can be extended at the discretion of the Nurse in Charge.

We are family friendly

There are no age restrictions for children visiting. We have the Smile Room with toys and games, as well as a children's treat box on the Inpatient Unit.

You can bring flowers

You can bring flowers and plants for patients to enjoy next to their bed.

Food and drinks

Food is available for visitors in Dulcie's cafe or from our canteen out of hours. Tea, coffee and drinks are available from the Inpatient Unit kitchen.

Pets are welcome

Well behaved pets can visit their loved one. Pet owners are responsible for animals throughout their visit and be considerate of other patients and visitors.

Translation service available

If English is not your first language and a translator would help you or your loved one we can help.
