What does it mean to be a Dove House volunteer?
Dove House Hospice could not run as an organisation without the army of volunteers that we are so grateful to have. We believe being a Dove House volunteer allows for the making of friendships, the development of new skills and using your time for the good of a local cause.
But we decided to ask for the volunteers themselves at our recent Volunteer Open Day on the 30th of April – ‘What does being a Dove House volunteer mean and bring to you?’…
“I enjoy meeting people of all backgrounds and the staff camaraderie with the volunteers in the shop” – John
“It is good experience and it’s a challenge, each day you never know what you are doing” – Natalie
“To do something for other people and give back now that I have the time to do so” – Hazel
“It’s lovely to be a part of and to do something with your time and what could be nicer than being a Dove House volunteer” – Stuart
“Even in my short time volunteering, the atmosphere and the people are lovely” – Samm
So, if you would like to become a Dove House volunteer, everyone is welcome! Be sure to contact the hospice or pop into one of our shops for a chat, we look forward to welcoming you.
