Jim Doyle, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, steps down

At the May Board of Trustees meeting Jim Doyle resigned from his position as Vice Chair. Jim had been a trustee for 10 years and made such a positive contribution to Dove House in that time.

Philip Daniels, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said:

“The Board of Trustees of Dove House Hospice are sorry that Jim Doyle has stepped down as a trustee following ten years of devoted service. Jim has served as Vice Chair for many of those years and stepped forward to act as Chair on the sad loss of former Chair Janet Weatherill for some months until a new appointment could be made.

Jim distinguished himself  over years as a 'Strictly Judge' at the hospice’s Strictly Learn to Dance event, where his great humour and character has been much appreciated by contestants and guests of the show alike. No doubt his charm has assisted our fundraisers generate considerable interest and of course revenue for the event.

Laterly Jim has been responsible in no small way for the creation of our Audit Committee and contributed greatly as regards investment planning. Jim has also proved a wonderful ambassador for Dove House in the wider community.

Thank You Jim for all you have done and enjoy a very happy retirement. We hope you won't be a stranger to us particularly at Strictly!”

Everyone here at Dove House would like to thank Jim for his commitment to the hospice and for helping provide vital services for families who turn to us for support.
