A letter from our volunteer Verity

There are lots of different great reasons to volunteer for Dove House. One of our volunteers has written a letter to those thinking of volunteering.

"Congratulations on thinking about joining Dove House Hospice. This would be one of the best decisions you would make. Whatever your interest is, Dove House Hospice can assist you in developing and progressing yourself. There are innumerable opportunities for developing your skills, CV, and meeting people like yourself. 

Dove House is more than just providing care for people who are unwell. You can be involved in various other areas, including finance, HR, fundraising, retail, and catering. There really is something for everyone. The hospice will give you the opportunity to be your best self, whilst receiving support and friendship from those who manage you, those you work alongside, and fellow volunteers. Volunteering was the best first step I ever took. It has helped me so much while being hugely rewarding and gives that feel-good factor that I am doing good and making a difference with my time.

You will be making the right choice volunteering with the hospice. You will be supporting your local community, making a difference for those looking to Dove House for support no matter what role you take up. Also, the hospice has been voted the fifth best not-for-profit company by the Sunday Times which just shows what a great place it is."

We couldn't run the hospice without our wonderful team of volunteers who give their time each week to support us.
