Supporting Dove House Hospice on your Wedding Day
More and more people are deciding to help Dove House Hospice whilst they celebrate their wedding and there are many ways you can support the hospice on your big day:
Favours
It is traditional to give favours to your wedding guests when they sit down with you to enjoy the Wedding Breakfast and usually these are sugared almonds or sweets, however some people also like to take this opportunity to support Dove House Hospice. You could make a donation to the hospice instead of buying individual gifts for all of your guests and announce during your speeches that you have chosen to support us in this way or you could buy our Lottery Lucky In Love Scratch Card Wedding Favours which give your guests the chance to win a jackpot prize as well as supporting the hospice. Donations instead of wedding gifts
Many couples feel that they have already got everything they need to start married life and instead ask their wedding guests to make a donation to the hospice instead of buying them a gift. There are various ways of doing this, you can ask for all donations to be sent directly to us here at Dove House Hospice, you can have a collection box at your reception or you could ask guests to put their donation in a Dove House donation envelope which comes complete with a gift aid declaration.

Wedding Dresses
One of our 30 Dove House Hospice charity shops is dedicated to bringing brides-to-be their perfect dress at a fraction of the price of most retailers. Our Beverley Wednesday Market Shop has a Wedding Room upstairs filled with wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, shoes, tiaras and much more. Mike and Kate Curtis got married in Canada September 2009 and decided to ask their guests at their UK reception to make a donation to the hospice in memory of Mike's mum instead of getting them presents.
The happy couple raised a fantastic £400 through their generous idea and everyone here at Dove House Hospice would like to thank them for thinking of the hospice at such a special time in their lives and to wish them lots of happiness in their life together.
