Timber Lodge
Timber Lodge is a fantastic respite facility that we are pleased to be able to offer to patients and their families.
The Lodge is located in Burton Constable Holiday Park at Burton Constable Hall. The Hall is a magnificent Elizabethan stately home set in a 300 acre park which was landscaped by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown in the 1770's. Within this parkland is Burton Constable Holiday Park where a variety of holiday homes and caravans are privately owned or available to rent.
Dove House has taken advantage of a marvellous opportunity to purchase one of the Timber Lodges on Wycliffe Park, a very quiet area of the park where the holiday facilities are for purchase only. Our Timber Lodge has been fully equipped for a Dove House Hospice service user, family or friend (upto 4 people) to be able to enjoy time together in this tranquil and beautiful woodland and lakeside setting. There are opportunites to fish in the well stocked lake, have a quiet drink in the Lakeside Bar, walk in the gardens or visit Burton Constable Hall itself.
More importantly, it is hoped that Dove House service users will take advantage of the opportunity to "get away from it all" and have a peaceful and restful time away from some of the cares and difficulties of living with a serious illness or condition.
What do I need to know about Timber Lodge?
Timber Lodge is independent of and quite separate from other services offered by Dove House Hospice. The hospice is not able to offer care in this facility and service users and carers must be satisfied that their medical and nursing needs are able to be met independently of the hospice. Any special arrangements required are the responsbility of the service user, carer and family to arrange. Although the hospice is not able to offer care in this facility, staff will assist service users to decide whether Timber Lodge is appropriate for their holiday use when booking.
Timber Lodge is a non smoking facility, however, smoking is permitted on the decking. A deposit of £50 will be required to be handed in on arrival at Timber Lodge (this should take the form of a cheque, which will be returned to you without being cashed when you leave under normal circumstances).
The facility is completely free of charge to service users, carers and their familes. However, a donation towards running costs is always appreciated.

Sleeping arrangements are for 4 people. There is a double bed in one room and 2 single beds in another. The lodge is fully equipped, this includes a washing machine and a fridge/freezer and everything you would expect to find in holiday park accommodation. Duvets, pillows and blankets are provided but you will need to bring duvet covers, bed linen, towels and tea towels.
Pets are not allowed. Insurance is not provided for occupants and their possessions. We would therefore recommend that you consider holiday insurance. Occupants who use Timber Lodge must be aware that they do so at their own risk.
