As we celebrate the first anniversary of the appeal, our very grateful thanks go to the hundreds of individuals, groups and companies who have helped us to achieve the total to date. However, whilst this is a superb result, there is still a very long way to go to reach the target of £2.5 millions but with their continuing support, we are confident we will get there. 

 

Would you like to join the ranks of our supporters? - we rely on the help of everyone. There's an ideal opportunity on Friday 20th May when a Love you 2 day is planned. Do something fun....help us turn the town purple! Dress down, or up! ... Sell buns or cakes ... Hold an interdepartmental competition at work ... Have a coffee morning or charity brunch ... Raffle ... Kidnap the boss!! Request a special fundraising pack from the appeal office to get you on your way to becoming a valued Love you 2 supporter.

HAVE BAG, WILL TRAVEL!

Love you 2 bags have been selling like hot cakes and are becoming well travelled!  Pictured here is Hospice Trustee Judith Hodgson posing with a policemen outside Buckingham Palace. We think it will be fun to see how far our bags travel and invite supporters to send in photographs, with their bags, in front of famous landmarks. Please send your photo with your name and where it was taken to loveyou2@dovehouse.org.uk and we'll publish as many as we can.

about the appeal

Dove House Hospice is the only adult hospice in this region serving a population of 325,000. The hospice desperately needs to extend its facilities to meet current demands and has launched the Love you 2 appeal to raise £2.5 million towards the re-development of the hospice site at Chamberlain Road.

 

The expansion and the re-development of the hospice will enable people to benefit from specialist palliative care, respite care, enhanced services and treatments and provide more facilities for relatives and carers.

 

additional facilities will include:

  • 12 respite beds including 2 family suites
  • Specialist palliative care 
  • Enhanced therapy assessment and treatment areas
  • New rehabilitation and gym facilities
  • New and improved day therapy unit
  • Efficient and updated clinical and administration accommodation
  • New suites for relatives and carers.
  • Hospice café for the whole community

RYTA Awards Ceremony:

 

A raffle held at the RYTA Awards Ceremony, held at Bridlington Spa, raised £1,735.23 for the appeal.
