Collecting at Funerals
Many people choose to collect funds in memory of their loved one at the funeral itself, and this usually takes place by having a collection at the church or crematorium, or by asking people to donate rather than sending flowers.
If you think this is how you would like to raise money in memory of your loved one then there are a couple of ways you can do it. Firstly you could ask your friends and family to bring their donation with them to the funeral and then collect it in on the day, (we can provide you with collection boxes) this way you can make one donation directly to the hospice, alternatively we can provide donation envelopes which come complete with a gift aid declaration to help raise additional funds. The second way of doing this is to ask the people coming to the funeral to donate directly to us here - if you contact us before you ask others to donate we can set up a tribute and make sure that all the donations are kept together and we can let you know a final total.
Whichever of the above methods you prefer we are happy to help in any way we can so please do not hesitate to contact us in regard to how you go about asking for money at this time. Whether you collect the money all together or ask people to send it to us directly below is some information about paying the money to us:
Online
Paying online is the easiest and quickest way of getting the money to us here at the hospice. Whether you have collected all the donations from a funeral together or if you have been asked to donate in memory of someone directly to the hospice please click here and fill the form in to process your payment.
Cheque/Cash
If you would rather donate via cash or cheque you can drop your gift into the reception at the hospice or alternatively you can send a cheque made payable to Dove House Hospice (please do not send cash in the post) to us at Dove House Hospice, Chamberlain Road, Hull, HU8 8DH.
