There are many sites on the internet that provide useful information on fundraising from inspiring ideas to details on the many charity laws that may influence your event. Below we've put together a list of the sites we think are worth a visit:
Fundraising Information
- www.institute-of-fundraising.co.uk - The Institute of Fundraising site includes lots of information about the different elements of raising money for charities and includes guides on different types of fundraising and the codes of best practice which outline current fundraising law.
- www.how2fundraise.org - The Institute of Fundraising has produced this great free site to help members of the public organise fundraising activities and it is packed with really useful sections that can help make your fundraising a success including fundraising ideas, fundraising know-how and suppliers.
- www.skylineevents.co.uk - We work alongside Skyline to offer our supporters the chance to take part in once in a lifetime activities to raise funds for the hospice - visit their site and find out more about jumping out of aeroplanes and trekking over foreign lands.
Social Network Sites
- www.facebook.com - Sign up to facebook and not only are you able to connect with freinds all over the world but you can promote your fundraising activities to them too! Facebook allows you to set up events where you can invite all of your online friends and you can also use your status updates to remind people about your event during th eplanning stages.
- www.twitter.com - Why not joing twitter and you can tweet your friends about your fundraising activities (in less than 160 characters) - this is a great way to remind people about your upcoming event. You can also follow Dove House Hospice so search for us when you're next online.
- www.flickr.com - Flickr is an online gallery site where you can upload photos of your event afterwards or progress photos during the run up to it - search for Dove House Hospice on Flickr too and you will find our photos from our most recent fundraising events.

- www.hullcc.gov.uk - Hull City Council's site is full of information on the different licences that need to be obtained and other useful things to consider if holding an event in the city.
- www.eastriding.gov.uk - East Riding of Yorkshire County Council's site is full of information on the different licences that need to be obtained and other useful things to consider if holding an event in the Easte Riding.
- www.hse.gov.uk - The Health and Safety Executive website is full of information on reducing risks and ensuring everyone at your event is kept safe.
- www.food.gov.uk - The Food Standards Agency website is worth having a look at if there is any type of catering at your event and includes information on safety and hygiene and packaging and labelling.
- www.eatwell.gov.uk/keepingfoodsafe - The Foods Safety Agency hosts this site and it is full of information from preparing food to cleaning and storing and even has a section on events and parties.
