Sports Clubs
There are lots of different activities sports clubs can do to help raise funds for Dove House Hospice. Many clubs choose to take part in one of our seasonal appeals such as having a Giant Easter Egg competition or a Share-a-Card, some choose to have a bucket collections at on or some of their games/matches, others like holding internal sponsored events and competitions to benefit training and team spirit and some like to hold bigger events more separate events.
On our Holding your Own Event page we have put looks of ideas and hints and tips for holding fundraising activities for the hospice, so please click here to see how you can start raising money now.
The young skaters at Hull Arena have always done alot to help Dove House Hospice and in May 2009 they took part in the Lord Mayor's parade to promote themselves and to show their continued support for the hospice. The skaters collected as they walked alongside their float, the East Yorkshire Motor Service Tigers bus that was kindly odnated by EYMS especially for the day, that was decorated with Dove House balloons and banners and raised a fantastic £208.83.
North Ferriby United Football Club are keen supporters of Dove House Hospice and in May 2008 they decided to hold their first Summer Ball and chose to donate all profits from the event to the hospice. The night was a huge success and club members and their families and friends got together to celebrate the end of the season with a fantastic night at the KC Stadium with top UK part band, Rapture. On the night there was a big raffle and an Auction of a signed Hull City AFC shirt and, added to a percentage of the ticket sales, this meant the club were able to donate a £1210 to Dove house Hospice.
