Groups in the Community
There are lots of different groups in the community who get together for varied reasons and who often organise activities to raise funds for Dove House Hospice.
Groups such as Young Farmers, Women's Institute, Rotary, Freemasons and other social groups help us not only by making donations but also by spreading awareness of what the hospice does and how we help in the local community. We are always happy to come and chat to these type of groups and do a presentation about our services and raising funds, if you think you would be interested in a member of the fundraising team coming to talk to your group please contact us by clicking here.
We've also put together lots of information on holding your own fundraising activity so whether it be a coffee morning or ball, sponsored bike ride or sporting event please click here for our hint, tips and ideas.
Hull and East Yorkshire's Asian Cultural Association selected Dove House Hospice as one of two charities to support at their annual Cultural Evening and Ball in March 2009. The ball was a fantastic evening full of Asian food and entertainment and the organising committee were proud to hand over a cheque to the hospice for £2630.50.
In November 2009 the Dove House Hospice fundraising team were invited to meet with the Howden Young Farmers group and tak to them about the work the hospice does and how we raise the funds we need to keep going. After the presentation the group surprised us by giving us a cheque for £285 from a sposonred bike ride they had organised around the surrounding area.
