Events in the Community
Fundraising for Dove House Hospice doesn't have to only take place in individual organisations, homes or schools - if the whole community pull together on an event not only can it raise a lot of money but it can also be alot of fun too.
There are lots of different activities that can set up in the local community including fayres and fetes, races, dances and open gardens so please click here to visit the pages we have put together full of information and ideas for setting up your own event to help you on your way.
The Walkington Hayride is a traditional community event which celebrated it's 40th year in 2007 and although this was the last year that the traditional procession took place the festivities have since contrnued with barn dances, garden parties, picnics, treasure hunts and hog roasts.
Since 2007 Dove House Hospice has been lucky to be selected as one of the charities supported by the Walkington Victorian Hayride which has to date raised a fantastic £7850 or the hospice.

The Easington Bogey Race is a fun community event which encourages local residents to get a team together to build a bogey (a non-motorised, go-cart type vehicle) and get sponsored to compete in a race against other teams and their bogey's in a course around the South Holderness village of Easington. The event has been supporting Dove House Hospice for a number of years and has raised a massive £11,923 to date. (Photo by Terry Bearpark - Holderness Gazette).
